As a follow up of successful “Implementing Responsible Care in Vocational Education and Processing Industries in Indonesia” project and as a part of the long term cooperation between VAPRO and SMKN 1 Cerme Gresik, a course of HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) based on International standards was held for SMK teachers and laboratory technicians in the region of Gresik.

The course consists of two parts of the HSE training program: theoretical training and practical safety lab training. The course was held on May 7 until May 12, 2012. In total there are 23 participants who followed the course.

The theoretical training covered selected HSE lessons which compulsory based on International standards. The practical safety lab training was held at one of the safety lab established by VAPRO at SMKN 1 Cerme Gresik. The training was executed by internationally certified VAPRO HSE trainers from ITS Surabaya (Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Surabaya) and SMKN 1 Cerme Gresik.

At the end of the course, each participant assessed by means of theoretical exam and safety lab checklist. VAPRO International HSE certificate were given to the participants who passed the exams.
